Talia Cucina & Rosticceria now open in downtown Pittsburgh

Owners of a popular fine dining restaurant are swapping the white tablecloth for a more casual concept at their newest venture.

Talia Cucina & Rosticceria, now open in the former Alcoa building at 425 Sixth Ave., downtown Pittsburgh, is the laid-back cousin of Vallozzi's, the longstanding and well-loved Greensburg establishment.

"They've had the classic Vallozzi's for the longest time," says Talia executive chef Steve Lanzilotti. "This is their venture into something that's not the norm, something that's new, more contemporary. We want to have a nice, casual, fun vibe."

In keeping with the focus on simplicity, Talia's decor is understated, with high-backed booths, wood floors and dark walls. Lanzilotti says street artists will be commissioned to create pieces to display on the walls as a nod to Italy's appreciation for such artwork.

Bar manager Scott DiBenedetto has created an approachable, fun program featuring Negroni and prosecco on tap as well as an extensive selection of amari, Italian herbal liqueurs. An array of easily assembled cocktails were created to pair well with menu items.

"With the complexity of the ingredients we are using in the drinks, a little bit goes a long way," DiBenedetto says.

‘Fire and Fury,’ the tell-all of Trump’s White House, heading to TV

Just two weeks after the book arrived in bookstores, Michael Wolff's bestselling Trump administration tell-all Fire and Fury is already set to be adapted as a television series.

Endeavour Content, the financing and sales arm of William Morris Endeavor and IMG, has purchased the film and television rights to the book, according to a report Wednesday by the Hollywood Reporter.

The expose about Trump's first year in office made waves earlier this month, with the president himself decrying the book as "phony" and "full of lies, misrepresentations and sources that don't exist."

The tome paints a dire picture of life inside the White House, with accusations of infidelity, incompetence and idiocy aplenty.

A network has not yet been attached to the project, though Wolff is signed to executive produce alongside former Channel 4 and BBC executive Michael Jackson, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

"Fire and Fury" debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times best-seller list, and its release date was bumped from Jan. 9 to Jan. 5 amid growing interest in it.

The book sold out in minutes, with publisher Henry Holt reporting that an additional 1.4 million hardcover copies have been ordered.

Sheetz makes top 10 gas stations in America

A Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain is getting some national attention in GasBuddy's gas station rankings.

Back in May we reported that Sheetz topped the fuel guide's list of best restrooms in Pennsylvania, as well as Maryland, Ohio and West Virginia. But the latest survey shows Sheetz customers elevating the Altoona company to the eighth slot in overall love across America.

Those wonderful Sheetz restrooms didn't make the national top five. In fact, Sheetz was excluded from the top slots for cleanliness, customer service, outdoor lighting and, yes, even coffee.
